About Budget Wizard

Money is complicated. The website shouldn’t be.

Budget Wizard turns everyday financial questions into clear explanations, useful calculators and practical next steps... without assuming you already speak the language of finance.

Why we built it

Start with the decision, not the jargon.

Most people do not wake up wanting a “loan amortisation model” or a “refinancing comparison”. They want to know whether they can afford the payment, whether switching could save money, or what happens if rates change. Budget Wizard is designed around those real questions.

Understand the numbers

Calculators make assumptions visible and let you explore different scenarios quickly.

Understand the decision

Plain-English guides explain what matters, what can change and what to check next.

Move forward confidently

We aim to leave you with a clearer next step rather than a wall of financial terminology.

Our editorial principles

Clarity before cleverness

Financial language can make simple decisions feel harder than they are. We prefer direct explanations, defined terms and worked examples.

Show the assumptions

A calculator can look precise while still being based on simplified assumptions. We aim to make important assumptions and limitations visible so that an estimate is not mistaken for a guarantee.

Separate information from promotion

Advertising or sponsored content should be identifiable as commercial content. Commercial relationships should not be disguised as independent editorial judgement.

Update when the world changes

Rates, thresholds, taxes, regulations and product terms can move. We aim to review time-sensitive material and show dates where recency matters.

How Budget Wizard content works

  1. Start with a real problem. We identify the decision a visitor is trying to make.
  2. Reduce it to useful inputs. Calculators focus on the variables that materially change the outcome.
  3. Explain the result. A number is more useful when you understand what drove it.
  4. Show the caveats. Important fees, eligibility issues, assumptions and limitations should be made clear.
  5. Point to the next question. Related tools and guides help you keep moving without forcing a product sale.

How we think about commercial relationships

Budget Wizard may be funded through advertising, sponsorship or affiliate relationships. If commercial arrangements are introduced, we aim to identify paid placements clearly and avoid allowing payment to turn an advertisement into an undisclosed recommendation.

You can read more about commercial opportunities and our advertising standards on the Advertise with Budget Wizard page.
